What Pediatric Dental Treatments Are Available at Dentistry at Lasalle?
Drs. Swati Khanna, Liliana Otrocol, Sam Gupta, and Abhishek Apratim are pleased to offer kids general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry services. Some of the basic services provided and performed routinely for children include:
- Dental cleanings. Also referred to as prophylaxis, dental cleanings are performed by our experienced and friendly dental hygienists to remove both plaque and tartar from the smile
- Dental examinations. With X-rays and a physical evaluation, we can look for signs of problems and make recommendations about what can be done to address them and restore the health of the smile
- Dental sealants. Dental sealants are used to reduce the depth of crevices in teeth, especially the molars, in which tooth decay can develop
- Fluoride treatment. The application of fluoride to the teeth can provide further protection against disease and decay, especially for children who may not be brushing thoroughly yet
- Tooth fillings. If an area of tooth decay, or cavities, is found, fillings must be placed to keep the decay from becoming more severe and to protect the teeth from infection
- Hygiene education. Teaching children how to properly brush and floss builds a proper foundation for healthy smiles for life and assists them in being more proactive about their oral health
