You might wonder how a screw replaces a natural tooth root. Well, the titanium screw is biocompatible, meaning that it fuses with the jawbone during the healing process. Once the implant is surgically inserted in your jawbone, it needs a few months to integrate with the bone to form a stable anchorage, just like your natural tooth root.
